Description

Ausmectin Cattle Pour-On is for the control and treatment of ivermectin sensitive internal and external parasites of cattle.

AUSMECTIN CATTLE POUR-ON is a ready-to-use solution of ivermectin, a member of the macrocyclic lactone class of endectocides, which has a unique mode of action. It acts selectively in invertebrate nerve and muscle cells resulting in paralysis and death of the parasite.

AUSMECTIN CATTLE POUR-ON is indicated for the control and treatment of ivermectin-sensitive gastrointestinal roundworms (including inhibited immature Ostertagia ostertagi), lungworms (Dictyocaulus viviparus), eyeworms (Thelazia spp.), sucking and biting lice, chorioptic and sarcoptic mange mites, buffalo flies (Haematobia irritans exigua) and cattle ticks (Boophilus microplus).

Ivermectin has a long intrinsic half-life, which provides excellent residual protection against parasitic re-infestation for a varying period depending on the target parasite and the pharmaceutical nature of the ivermectin formulation.

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION: FOR EXTERNAL APPLICATION TO CATTLE ONLY.

Apply along the top line in a narrow strip extending from the withers to the tailhead.

The dose rate is 1 mL for each 10 kg body weight (equivalent to 500 µg ivermectin per kg body weight). See label for details.

Dose the mob according to the heaviest animal in the group (cows, bulls, calves, heifers etc.). Do not under dose and avoid excessive overdosing. It is recommended that a representative sample of animals should be weighed with either scales or a weightband before treatment. Consult your veterinarian for assistance in the complete parasite control program.

WITHHOLDING PERIODS:

MEAT: DO NOT USE less than 42 days before slaughter for human consumption.

MILK: Zero (0) days.
