Description

WSD Double Strength ENDOMEC is a broad spectrum treatment for internal and external parasites of beef and dairy cattle. Type of Preparation WSD ENDOMEC is a pour-on formulation for topical use containing 10g/L abamectin- a potent macrocyclic lactone (ML).

Indications Mature and immature stages of the following worms. Barber's pole worm (Haemonchus spp), hair worm or small hair worm (Trichostrongylus spp), small brown stomach worm (Ostertagia ostertagi including hypobiotic larvae), small intestinal worm (Cooperia), whipworm (Trichuris), lungworm (Dictyocaulus viviparus), Capillaria spp. External parasites of cattle: Biting lice (Bovicola bovis) and sucking lice (Linognathus, Haematopinus, Solenopotes spp). Aids in the control of cattle tick (Boophilus microplus)

Dairy Cattle: Suitable for cattle producing milk for human consumption (see withholding period information) Dosage Always refer to the label. Separate into different weight classes if there is a large variation in age and weight. Apply as a narrow strip along the back between the withers and tail-head at the rate of 1ml per 20kg body weight. Advice On Use

• WSD ENDOMEC is applied undiluted using an applicator.

• It is easy to use, with half the volume dose of most other pour-on preparations for cattle. • Ideal for dairy herds and for beef cattle entering feedlots for finishing.

• It should not be applied as a single spot or to cattle which are wet.

• Efficacy may be reduced if there is heavy rain soon after application and therefore it is preferable to delay application when rain is forecast.

• If applied to cattle in direct sunlight on days of very high ambient temperature, there may be a temporary local irritation or inflammation of the skin at the site of application.

• Abamectin may be toxic and care should be exercised in ensuring the correct dose rate in cattle which are in poor body condition or drought-affected. It is preferable to ensure cattle in poor condition have been on adequate nutrition for several days before treating.

• The repeated use of any ML drench is likely to result in the emergence of resistance in worm parasites and therefore, it may be advisable to occasionally or regularly alternate with a different class of anthelmintic product such as WSD FENBENDAZOLE 100.
